Tour Schedule
3:00 AM – Departure from Huaraz (3,100 m)
- Hotel pickup and private transportation via the Carhuaz – Punta Olímpica highway.
- Approximate travel time: 3 hours.
5:30 AM – Arrival at Punta Olímpica (4,750 m)
- Personal and technical equipment check.
- Safety and roping briefing.
6:00 AM – Beginning of the approach
- Initial hike on the rocky moraine (approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour).
- Crampon placement and glacier entry.
7:30–8:00 AM – Ascent to Nevado Mateo (5,150 m)
- Glacier progression with slopes of 35–45°.
- Use of rope, crampons, and ice axe.
- 2–3-hour ascent.
8:00 – 8:30 AM – Summit of Nevado Mateo (5,150 m)
- Time for photos and to admire the spectacular views: Huascarán, Chacraraju, Ulta, Chopicalqui, and Contrahierbas.
8:30 – 10:30 AM – Descent to the starting point
- Return via the same route to Punta Olímpica.
11:00 AM – Return by shuttle to Huaraz
- Return transfer with panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca.
2:00 PM – Approximate arrival in Huaraz
- End of services.
